October 2022

Welcome to October! It’s the spookiest time of the year when the ghosts and ghouls make an appearance for some great Halloween themed activities over most of our sessions.

Upcoming Christmas Fayre Next Month!

Don’t forget it’s our upcoming Christmas Fayre next month on Saturday 19th November from 10 a.m.until 2 p.m. On the day there will be Santa’s Grotto (please turn up early to buy tickets as we only have 75 places to see Santa), 20+ Christmas stalls, hot food & drinks plus free kid’s activities.

Bottle donations

Please donate bottles of wines, spirits, pop or water to our Christmas Fayre fund-raiser by dropping off at the Sedbergh Centre, Huddersfield Road, Odsal, Bradford, BD6 1DJ. Thank you.

A Fresh Lick of Paint

Last month members of Virgin 02 came along to the centre as part of their Take Five initiative to paint the front reception area of the club room. We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to the team for all their hard work. Also, a huge THANK YOU to Cheryl and all at Crown Paints Bradford for their incredibly generous donation of an assortment of paints for our ‘Lick of Paint’ days.

Joint Support Sessions

What is Joint Support? Joint Support is a monthly support group encouraging people with joint, muscle and bone associated conditions such as fibromyalgia, lupus, & athritis to get together for support and social activities. Those attending can take part in fun activities, work on resilience techniques and build confidence. Meeting other people in the same situation can often make us feel less alone and open doors to new ideas for personal well-being.

Who can use this service? Anyone with joint, muscle and bone associated conditions can use this service.

Where can people access Joint Support? At the Sedbergh Youth & Community Centre, Huddersfield Road, Odsal, Bradford, BD6 1DJ on Wednesday 26th October and Wednesday 23rd November from 10.30 a.m. until 12.00 noon.

How much is admission? Admission is £2.00 per person including refreshments.

How is this service provided? As a registered charity with no statutory funding, we rely heavily on the generosity of grants. Our donors can be found on our website at www.sedberghcommunitycentre.co.uk

The Sedbergh Youth & Community Centre would like to ask for your help! We would be very grateful if each and every one of you would make a small donation of chocolate towards our Christmas Chocolate Campaign. We need all kinds of chocolate from single bars to boxes – to make up a fantastic Chocolate Tombola for our Christmas Fayre which will take place on Saturday 19th November. Our Chocolate Tombola is a big money-maker for our charity and is usually one of the first stalls to sell out on the day!

If you can help, please could you drop off your donations at the Sedbergh Centre, Huddersfield Road, Odsal, Bradford, BD6 1DJ or pass them to your activity co-ordinator at one of your sessions.
