Happy New Year 2019! Last year was a really good one for the centre and we recorded a massive 19,600 people through the doors. Our team has worked hard on gaining funding to make sure we can continue to provide activities for all people in Bradford and at the end of the year were successful in obtaining National Lottery funding. We are very much looking forward to the coming year and all the exciting things it has in store for us.

Sedbergh Wins Carer Friendly Employer Award
We are delighted to announce that we have become the first employer in the Bradford area to become a Carer Friendly Employer in partnership with Carers’ Resource. Arnie Butterfield, Sedbergh Centre Manager was keen to look at ways of developing the centre’s practices around its employment of staff and volunteers and received advice from the CReate team at Carers’ Resource to make sure that the carers he employs are supported and valued.
New 'Natural Highs' Project
Sport Works and the Bridge Project have secured funding to get new health based project ‘Natural Highs’ up and running in Bradford for people recovering from substance misuse. The project delivered by Sport Works staff will help participants reap the benefits of regular physical exercise which will support wider health and well-being benefits. Thank You Tesco
Colleagues from our local Tesco store came along to the centre in December to share some goodwill by providing and delivering a lovely Christmas party for our Young at Heart group. The team prepared and served our clients with a banquet fit for a king and stayed to join in with the fun and games! Thank you Tesco for all your support last year and for being so kind!
Sedbergh Shares Christmas Magic with Hospice
Sedbergh staff and young volunteer, Alice Hackett shared a little Christmas magic with the Forget-me-not hospice when they decorated the Christmas grotto at Russell House for the children and families who attend there.
Thank You Arriva Yorkshire
Arriva Buses brought Santa to the centre in style to deliver goodies for our thrilled toddlers at their Christmas party. Arriva has been a brilliant support to Sedbergh over the last couple of months with kind colleagues at the Heckmondwike depot donating toys and craft materials for our sessions. So, thank you Arriva, our clients will really enjoy using them.
Vote for us at Tesco
Don’t forget we’re in the customer vote for a Bags of Help grant from Tesco. You can now vote for us in local Tesco stores using tokens collected at the tills during January & February. Please support us!
