Qtr 1 2022

Happy New Year to all our clients, volunteers and members of the local community. We hope you’ve had a good Christmas and spent a restful time with your loved ones. This year, we are going to be very focused on raising funds for our charity, so if you have any duplicate gifts or items you have no use for we would be very pleased to take them off your hands to help with ourfund-raising.

Vote for us in-store at Tesco

Please vote for us in-store at Tesco where we have a chance of winning funding for our Healthy Start for Toddlers’ project. This will pay for healthy snacks, active play and social skills development for pre-school children at our stay and play groups at the Sedbergh Youth & Community Centre. Please vote at Buttershaw, Low Moor, Bolton or Undercliffe stores with the token received at the checkout.

Man Shed Re-opens

The Sedbergh Youth & Community Centre Man Shed is now open on Wednesdays from 12 noon until 3.00 p.m. This is a great opportunity for men to take time-out, form support networks and take part in social activities, games and basic woodwork projects. We would very much like this to be a client led group, so all ideas are welcome. Please call 01274 679843 for more details or just turn up on the day. Admission is £2.00 including refreshments.

Sedbergh is Recycle Friendly

The Sedbergh Youth & Community Centre is proud to announce its Waste Not Want Not Project, funded by Bradford Council. This project will reduce waste and raise awareness of climate change. At the end of last year, we installed mixed recycling bins throughout the centre and this year we are working with young people attending the Youth Club on six individual sessions, incorporating Earth Day in April and Recycle Week in September, All participants will receive a certificate of attendance. The Youth Club takes place on Tuesdays from 5.30 – 8.30 p.m.
